Pete Carroll announced today that the rookie, Russell Wilson, will get the starting job officially for the preseason match up against the Oakland Raiders as well as the week 1 game against the Arizona Cardinals.
Carroll was very straight forward about the change, claiming that Wilson “won the starting job” as opposed to free agent Matt Flynn losing it.
Wilson has had a stellar preseason debut, scoring at least twice in every game he has played in. He led the ‘Hawks in an amazing 44-14 win over the Chief’s in his first official start. He also leads the rookie quarterback class in stats over both first round picks Andrew Luck and Robert Griffin III.
With a stout defense behind him getting them great field position, a powerful running game, and the new and improved Seahawks wide receiver corps, Wilson may just have all the tool that is need to have a stellar rookie year.
