After swapping with the New York Jets and gaining two more picks in the draft, the Seattle Seahawks chose a ILB out of Utah State named Bobby Wagner. Wagner is a stout linebacker with a nose for the ball. He is a four year starter at Utah State, and amassed well over 100 tackles his last three seasons for them.
During Wagner’ senior season alone he racked up 147 tackles, 4 sacks, and intercepted 2 passes. According to Pro Football Weekly, Wagner ran the 40 in 4.70. They also called him tough, and extremely durable. Per NFL.com, he is an undersized linebacker( 6’0, 233#), but can diagnose plays fairly easily. His versatility with playing all the linebacker spots really appealed to Pete and his gameplan. Wagner is expected to jump right in and compete for the starting role vs Barrett Ruud for MLB.
