Seahawks Beat Panthers 16-12
Seahawks quarterback Russell Wilson completed 19 of 25 passes for 221 yards. He had one touchdown pass and two interceptions. Other high performers for Seattle included Marshawn Lynch (85 yards on 21 carries), Sidney Rice (67 yards rushing), Zach Miller (59 yards rushing), and Golden Tate (one touchdown on 31 yards). Defensively, Richard Sherman (5 tackles and one forced fumble), Bobby Wagner (3 tackles and 1.5 sacks), and Bruce Irivin (2 tackles, 2 sacks, and one forced fumble) led the way.
The Seahawks scored in the first quarter with 10:29 to go on a Steven Hauschka 22-yard field goal.
Hauschka followed with a 36-yard field goal in the second quarter to make the game 6-0 Seattle. With 0:02 left in the second quarter, Panthers kicker Justin Medlock nade a 32-yard field goal to make the game Seahawks 6, Panthers 3.
With 12:26 to go in the third quarter Captain Munnerlyn intecepted a Russell Wilson pass to score a 33-yard touchdown. However, Wilson got his revenge with a 13-yard touchdown pass to Golden Tate with 0:35 left on the third quarter clock. The quarter end, ed with Seattle up 13-10.
In the fourth quarter, Steven Hauschka nailed a 44-yard field goal to widen the score to 16-10, but Kenny Onatolu’s safety with 0:59 scored two more points for Carolina for a final score in Seattle’s favor of 16-12.
The Seahawks are now 3-2 (2-0 at home, 1-2 on the road) and will host the 3-2 New England Patriots next Sunday.
