As the Associated Press had reported today, Brian Banks will return to Seattle to continue his tryout.
Banks was extended an offer to come to the mandatory Seahawks minicamp as a tryout last Thursday after his initial tryout was completed. Bruce Tollner, Banks’ agent, has confirmed that Banks will be a part of Seahawks minicamp on Wednesday and Thursday, after he completes a tryout with the Kansas City Chiefs. Banks also had a workout with the San Diego chargers last friday, but they failed to offer him a contract. Several other teams have shown an interest in Banks as well including the Minnesota Vikings, the Washington Redskins, and the San Fransisco 49ers.
The former blue chip star out of Long Beach Poly High School was recruited by Pete Carroll to come to USC before being charged with rape. After taking the plea deal, Banks served out five years behind bars. After his accuser was caught on tape saying that she had lied about the details of the event, Banks was exonerated, and has tried to resume his dreams of making it into the NFL. In his first tryout with the Seahawks, he impressed head coach Pete Carroll and Ken Norton Jr. enough to invite him back to this weeks mandatory minicamp.
